Deer Valley, UT

March 7, 2011 No Comment

I spent Presidents Day weekend skiing in Deer Valley, Utah. It’s a beautiful area, arguably the nicest place I have ever skied. As an added bonus we stayed at the brand new Montage Resort. Between the skiing and the accommodations, it’s no wonder why Deer Valley Resort was rated the #1 ski resort in North America an unprecedented four years in a row by the readers of SKI Magazine.

The area received 3′ of fresh powder in less than 48 hours during my stay. The drifts were so deep that the ski patrol had to set off charges to prevent avalanches in a few of the bowls. Being the novice deep powder skier that I am, I chose to play it safe. Skis off I shot with my Canon 7D. All skis on activity was reserved for my trusty Coolpix S550.
